About Lia
I’m Lia, the founder of The Cub Hub, a consultancy dedicated to empowering families with expert support in newborn and infant care, early childhood development, and sleep solutions. With over eleven years of experience working closely with babies, toddlers, and their families, I combine hands-on expertise with advanced academic training to offer compassionate, personalised care during the most transformative stages of parenthood.

Before establishing The Cub Hub, I honed my skills as a Nanny, working both day and night alongside families. Over half of my career was spent living in, providing me with a unique understanding of the joys, complexities, and realities of family life. I have cared for newborns, toddlers, and twins, gaining invaluable practical knowledge in navigating the challenges of early parenthood.
Academically, I hold two Bachelor of Science degrees—one from Cardiff University and another from The Open University, the latter completed alongside my professional work. Initially aspiring to become a pediatrician, my career path evolved as I delved deeper into child development, psychology, neuroscience, and neurodevelopment. My studies revealed the profound impact of attachment, conditioning, and environmental factors on a child’s developing brain, enriching my perspective and shaping the empathetic approach I bring to my work today.
In addition, I hold professional certifications as a Maternity Nurse (Level 5) and Sleep Practitioner (Level 6) through the Open College Network. I am dedicated to life-long learning, and continue to partake in professional training to ensure my methods are grounded in up-to-date evidence-based practices. I firmly believe that the best care comes from a synergy of academic knowledge, real-world experience, and genuine empathy for the challenges families face.
The inspiration for The Cub Hub came from recognizing a significant gap in high-quality, personalised support for parents, particularly during the postpartum period and early years. My mission is to bridge that gap, offering bespoke, expert guidance tailored to the unique needs of every family.
At The Cub Hub, I provide a range of services. My approach prioritizes trust, clear communication, and building positive relationships with families. I understand that no two families are alike, which is why I offer advice that is compassionate, research-driven, and customised to your situation.
Away from the overwhelming advice on Google forums and WhatsApp groups, I strive to be a calm, trusted voice that parents can rely on during this life-changing journey. With a deep respect for the monumental task of early parenthood, I ensure that all guidance is delivered with warmth, empathy, and an unwavering commitment to helping families thrive.
Whether you need support in the final weeks of pregnancy to prepare for your new arrival, solutions for newborn sleep, or expert advice for your toddler’s development, I am here to guide you every step of the way.
